Share LocalNews Man pleads guilty to sexual intercourse with minor by: – October 16, 2013 33 Views   no discussions Sharecenter_img Share Tweet A man from the north of the island pleaded guilty to unlawful sexual intercourse with a female minor on Wednesday 16th October at the High Court.When previously arraigned at the beginning of the 2013 September Criminal Assizes, the man who can only be identified by his initials T.P, pleaded not guilty to the charges of unlawful sexual intercourse and indecent assault of a girl ten years and one month during March 1 and April 30, 2011.His trial was scheduled to begin this morning before Justice Birnie Stephenson however, the charge was re-read to him and he changed his plea to guilty. Upon pleading guilty to the first charge, state attorney Arthlyn Nesty informed the court of the prosecution’s decision to withdraw the second charge of indecent assault.Justice Stephenson ordered a pre-sentence report which she said should include a victim impact statement and a psychiatric evaluation.T.P was remanded at the State’s Prison pending his sentencing hearing on November 22. He was informed by the judge that the time he has spent on remand will be taken into consideration during sentencing.Attorney Darius Jones assisted the court in representing T.P who did not have legal representation.Dominica Vibes Newslast_img read more

Black Ridge to acquire Allied Esports and merge with WPT

first_imgBlack Ridge Acquisition Corp. and Ourgame International Holdings Ltd. have entered an agreement that will see Black Ridge acquire two of Ourgame’s esports properties, Allied Esports and World Poker Tour.Once the acquisition is complete the combined properties will be known as Allied Esports Entertainment, providing “world-class in-person experiences, multiplatform content and interactive services” to the esports and gaming industries.Allied Esports Entertainment will combine Allied Esports’ venue-driven services with the business model of the World Poker Tour. The new company will continue to develop esports-dedicated arenas, mobile gaming trucks, and affiliate arenas (which was announced recently).Once the transaction is complete, Allied Esports Entertainment will be led by Lyle Berman as Chairman, Eric Yang as Vice Chairman, Frank Ng as CEO, Ken DeCubellis as CFO, David Moon as COO, and Adam Pliska as President. Jud Hannigan’s role as CEO of Allied Esports will remain intact.Lyle Berman, Director of Black Ridge – who is expected to be the Chairman of the Board of AESE – commented in a statement: “In more than 40 years in the gaming and entertainment business, this is the most exciting opportunity I have seen.
